Getting ready to worship

It will be a surprise to no one that reads this to any degree of regularity, that I was out running my dogs this morning. It is Sunday so I have to do this and then get home to clean up and get ready to go to church. I noticed as the dogs and I ran along our regular path that nature was already up and had put on its Sunday best.

The dandelion had moussed their “hair” in the morning mist,

the grasses had put on their jewels,

others preferred powder,

the brook was gargeling

and I saw one plant trimming its petals.

Pines were flaunting their limbs with “nails” the color of new.

You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

—-Isaiah 55:12

Have a joyful Lord’s Day,

Dawn

  1. Wish you could see the peaceful, delighted smile across my face. Your words put it there. THANK YOU! I had decided I needed to take a walk around the property this Sunday afternoon — to sort, think, ponder, worship. Just as I was ready to sign off the computer, my fingers automatically called up your blog…just to check. For ever so many reasons, I love the pictures you painted on this beautiful day the Lord made and your words help me to rejoice in it and be GLAD. Sabbath hugs. Liz

    • Dear Liz,

You made ME smile! I can see you out and about your property just humming and praying and walking and saying. Nature sure does help us out with all that when we’re out there with her. Photographs only give a glimpse of the grandeur. There are living creatures and smells and warmth of sun…so many gifts, but then that is tomorrow. See you then?

      Praising with you,
      Dawn

    • Dear A.,

My favorite was the moussed dandelion, too! In fact, they gave me the idea. They looked so beauty-salon perfect that I began to look to see what the rest of the woodland/meadow was doing this morning. A whole new world opened up to me as I looked much more intently at details. It was very fun! I’m so glad you liked it.

      Praising Him all day,
      Dawn
