The Ten Commandments Award

A very special blogger, gave me the Ten Commandments Award. I am taking the time now to acknowledge her recognition. The Ten Commandments are from GOD, and are the standards to which we are to hold ourselves. The 10 commands can easily be grouped into two groups — love for God and love for others. These commandments were given to Moses and the Children of Israel in the wilderness after their escape from slavery in Egypt. Can you imagine how much better our world would be IF all people lived and followed these commandments?

The Ten Commandments Exodus 20:3-17. :

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. You shall not make unto thee any graven image.

3. You shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

  1. I’ve missed you! Welcome back to cyber space and thanks for the slanket education. The answer to that would be “no”.

I pray rest for you, Dear Sister,

  2. I was really struck, Dawn, in reading the Ten Commandments like this, apart from Bible text — I guess because we don’t see that very often any more. But it was also because of the question, “Can you imagine how much better our world would be IF all people lived and followed these commandments?” I started reading them with that consideration, and didn’t need to get past the first one. If we could just get that one, really, all the rest would fall into place, wouldn’t they? I plan to be writing about this in my blog before too long (on the whole drawing-CLOSER theme), and putting in a link to this post.
And thank you, dear blogger friend, for including me in your blogger award list. I never know quite how to handle these, waver, and end up doing nothing. But I do appreciate the encouragement your inclusion gives me. God bless the rest of your summer of new horizons.
