Hello! I am happy you dropped by today. I began this blog in October 2010 with a post about my dogs, thus the dschondog name (a combination of my maiden name and the word dog). Together they say beautiful dog. I am a married 61-year-old nurse who does telephone triage, a mother of 4, and grand-mother of 5. Everyone has left the nest. I now have 3 dogs. The blog was to be about dogs. It didn’t turn out as I expected. Two months went by and I did not post another thing, but I did begin reading Ann Voskamp’s blog A Holy Experience. She had just released her first book 1000 Gifts and was challenging everyone to give the new year a name. I went back to my blog and posted my first entry for 2011. The post was entitled The Year of Now. Since then, I have tried to post something almost daily. I post a thank list every Monday and a spiritual lesson I’m learning later in the week. Being in community with hundreds (perhaps thousands) of others who read Ann Voskamp’s blog, I am encouraged every time I turn on my computer. I meet a few people here daily. It’s funny how this cyberspace situation is a replica of my normal way of being in real time. I have a few close friends with whom I connect deeply, a few others who are kind and people-oriented so they visit now and then and there are drive-bys driven here by a link or search engine for a look-see. It’s all been great fun, but it’s also serious. It is March 10, 2013 as I update this. I named this year, Emmanuel, God with us, because He is, with us. The support I receive with like-minded individuals who read here and whom I read is priceless. I invite you into the conversation. You’ll be blessed!
