All these pictures were taken yesterday at my son’s birthday party. I hope you can see we had a great time. The prompts were (1) Candid, (2) Toys, (3) Five Senses, (4) Batteries, and (5) Half.
Candid
This is the response you’d get from Little Harry if you asked him if he lost his tooth. It happened while he was playing with the kids at his Dad’s birthday party. Pop Pop is the tooth fairy so that worked out perfectly since the tooth fairy was attending the party, too!
Toys
Homemade bean bags and homemade wooden box with a hole in the top to teach a whole new generation of bean bag throwers the fine points of the game. My daughter-in-law, Stephanie, is the master teacher.
Five Senses
One of the nicest of the five senses is touch. Here my husband gives his brother the touch of brotherly love.
Batteries
When batteries fail, Dad power is always good. He was really booking here. My photo was a blur.
Half
Half the birthday cake was already gone by the time I got this picture. My older son, Harry, turned 40 and celebrated with a big gathering of friends and family. Here he is cutting the cake for his guests. The kids loved the extra icing on the balloon pieces!

Always love the themed hunts and a family birthday is so fun. Love the bean bag toss idea. How handy for little Harry to have the tooth fairy right there . . . I well remember the big grins to show off the lost tooth. That cake looks so yummy. I’d like a piece with a balloon, please. Do you get a long weekend for Labour Day? I do . . . kind of sweet after only one week of work. Hope you are doing well at your new job as well. Hugs.

When you share your emotions as you face your new job, I feel like I have a buddy as I face my new job. I can never forget that we were both hired on 8/8 – the time of New Beginnings for both of us. Forty! I thought to myself, “My goodness!” Then I remembered that I will be out of high school forty years next year and my dear Johanna turned thirty-four last month. Yikes! Where has the time gone? Then I couldn’t help but ponder all that has happened in the last forty years and how I could see the Lord’s hand in it all! Through the good and the not-so-good, He has been there with me. When I face uncertainty, as I do now, I know that He is with me and that I have nothing to fear! Our God is, indeed, an awesome God! Thank you for sharing, Dawn, and Happy Birhday, Harry!
